FAQ's

How much is a serving size for my baby?

Our meals come in 100 g portions, which equals 3 cubes. This is simply an average. Some babies will naturally eat more, while others will eat less.

When your baby first starts solids, most will manage around 1 cube.

By 7–8 months, many babies increase to 2 cubes, and by 9–10 months, it’s common for babies to comfortably enjoy 3 cubes or more.

Remember, appetite changes from day to day. Some meals they’ll be hungrier, others they may barely touch. All of this is normal. Your baby will let you know when they’re full or still interested.

Are frozen baby meals nutritious?

Frozen baby meals can be nutritionally sound when they are thoughtfully prepared and frozen soon after cooking. Freezing helps preserve key nutrients such as protein, iron and healthy fats, without relying on preservatives or shelf-stable processing. How do I know my baby is ready for solids?

Most babies are ready at around 6 months, but the real guide is whether they show the signs of readiness. Age alone isn’t enough, as every baby develops differently.

Look for these key signs:

  • Sitting with support: They can sit upright and stay steady

  • Strong head control: Their head remains stable

  • Interest in food: They watch you eat or reach for food

  • Mouthing: They bring toys or hands to their mouth often

  • Reduced tongue thrust: They no longer push food out with their tongue

When you’re seeing most of these signs, your baby is ready to begin solids.

Do you incorporate allergens into Petite Meal Co meals?

Yes. We include common allergens in controlled, developmentally appropriate ways, because early and repeated exposure helps support tolerance.

You’ll see ingredients like egg, dairy, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish and nuts used where they make sense nutritionally and safely.

Every recipe is clearly labelled so you always know what’s inside, and each meal is designed to align with current evidence on allergen introduction.

If you’re introducing an allergen for the first time, we recommend doing so at home when your baby is well and you can observe them, then using our meals to help maintain that exposure.

How do I serve your finger foods?

Our finger foods are shaped so you can heat them and serve them whole, making it easier for babies to hold and explore safely.

For our meat-based finger foods, we’ve included quinoa to help keep them soft and prevent them from becoming dry as your baby eats.

As your baby’s skills progress and they start managing smaller pieces, you can break the finger foods into chunks or strips. Whether served whole or in smaller pieces, the goal is the same: food that supports confident self-feeding.
